FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Recepto

Data integrations, pricing and credits, plays, outreach, and onboarding — answered in the order people actually ask them.

Core Product and Capabilities

How is Recepto different from other intent players in the market?

Recepto is built for revenue teams of B2B companies and only tracks 3rd party data and signals. Most other intent players track internal (1st party - website visitors, trials, etc.) or partner (2nd party) signals. Our core value comes from understanding "what to track" and "how" and "where" to track based on your business. Recepto focuses on your active prospects who may not have heard about your solution but are grappling with problems you can solve for. We go very deep into solving this one problem and help you expand the funnel with leads that you would not have got otherwise. In that sense we are complimentary to other ways you generate your leads today. Recepto is built on first principles from the grounds up; our founding team has a great mix of sales, marketing and AI experience. Once you see our product, you will know why is it unique and will be convinced that nothing like this exists in the world today that works so well that it feels like magic.

What does it mean to edit the variables in a Play

A play typically is a set of business triggers and signals. For Recepto, these business triggers can be edited by you within the boundaries of that Play. The variables and filters typically are around your ICP or intent signals that you want to track

Do you pull signals from private forums like Okta or Workday communities?

In case you are a member of any such private community, we can help you track those communities for relevant signals and also enrich the personas automatically. But that data only is visible in your account and remains private to you

Do you use crawlers or agents? What AI models generate messaging?

We use the latest LLMs and crawlers for collection and classification and copy generation, with human review as needed. Typically from a few million signals that we access everyday, we generate a few leads that might be relevant to you

Where is the source attribution for each lead? Can we see the original source / post?

Typically a Play consists of multiple signals and triggers and hence leads within that Play might come from multiple sources. In cases where the source is singular, we show you the original source of that lead so that you have more context

How do you find names and contact details for leads?

We enrich from public sources, validate, and attach context to each contact. As far as enrichment is concerned, we might be just like any other enrichment site.

Are signals at a prospect (person) or account level?

Both account and persona-level signals are tracked but the leads are typically created at a company level.

Is this a data dump or do we get actual contact details with context?

For any lead that is unlocked, you get context and enriched contacts of decision makers (whereever available. If the lead is sourced from a single public source, you would also get directs links to the source source.

How genuine is the intent tracking at Recepto?

Intent tracking at Recepto is 100% genuine. A lead is only created when a suitable signal or trigger is found.

Do you source data only from LinkedIn, or multiple sources?

We have 100+ sources from which we get our leads today. The number of sources are increasing on a consistent basis. We check across multiple source channels for each lead before bringing it into your account. Leads from Linkedin might be <10% of our total lead volume.

Is this cold outreach, or always based on intent?

Recepto is always Intent + ICP (Ideal customer profile) based. We act on live buying signals rather than broad cold lists.

What is a Play?

Plays use your business triggers and signals to automatically find and contact prospects who have a problem that you solve for. Think of them as your tribal knowledge that is codified and scaled up so that your revenue teams can be more efficient

Pricing and Plans

How does the pricing work?

Recepto sells two products, and you can buy either or both. PlayList is priced on the plays you run, plus credits when an account surfaces. There are three plans: Growth ($1,199 a quarter, 3 plays, 400 credits a month), Professional ($2,999 a quarter, 10 plays, 1,000 credits a month) and Enterprise ($24,999 a year, all 60+ plays plus custom plays, no meter on credits). Each tier multiplies your lead capacity while the credit rate stays the same, so your cost per lead never rises as you grow. WatchList is priced per named account. You pick one of four settings, signal depth × enrichment depth, starting at 30 accounts on a one-quarter commitment. Professional and Enterprise PlayList plans include WatchList for 10 and 30 accounts respectively at no extra cost. There are no setup fees and no hidden charges on either product.

What is the difference between PlayList and WatchList?

PlayList casts the net wide. It runs your chosen plays across your entire addressable market, filters everyone showing a signal through your ICP, and hands you a ranked feed of accounts worth putting in the funnel. It is wide rather than exhaustive and it fills the funnel. WatchList goes deep on the accounts you name. Every one of them is tracked exhaustively, with signals mapped to your offerings, the people in the org, your relationships, their tech stack, vendors and competitor interactions. It tells you which of your named accounts is hot, what to pitch, and how to get in: it speeds the funnel up. The optimizations and methods used in PlayList are different from the exhaustive flows that we use in WatchList. Used together, accounts that keep firing signals in PlayList get promoted into WatchList.

Which one should I start with?

If your problem is not enough qualified accounts entering the funnel, start with PlayList. If you already know exactly which accounts you want to win and the problem is timing and access, start with WatchList. If you are not sure, tell us what you sell and who you sell to. We will tell you which signals apply, which product should come first, and how much pipeline that realistically produces.

What is the minimum commitment?

Growth and Professional are billed quarterly, with a one-quarter minimum. Enterprise is billed annually. WatchList starts at 30 accounts on a one-quarter commitment. Plays get sharper over their first few weeks as they learn your ICP, which is why the shortest term is a quarter rather than a month.

Is there a free trial or pilot?

There is no free trial. Instead, every plan comes with a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund window. In PlayList, your first intent-matched leads typically land within 24 hours of activating a play, matched to your ICP with named decision makers, so you see real output well before the window closes. Growth and Professional are designed as pilot plans: run one quarter, get to ROI, then scale what is working. In WatchList, the moment you share your named accounts, it takes us a couple of days to do an in-depth run on your accounts, after which you can track them yourself on an ongoing basis.

Do you have a refund policy?

Yes. Cancel within the first 7 days of any plan and you get a full refund, no questions asked. After that, the plan runs for its billing period.

What is a Play?

A Play is any signal, event or trigger you want to track: a funding round, a sales leader hired, a competitor cutting staff, a tech tool adopted, a founder asking LinkedIn for vendors. You choose from a library of 60+ signals across six categories (community and social, organizational change, tech and product, market and media, competitive intelligence, events and engagement), or define custom plays on Enterprise. In PlayList, Growth runs 3 plays at a time, Professional runs 10, Enterprise all of them. You can create and edit plays yourself at any time, including keywords, geographies, ICP filters and thresholds, and the change takes effect on the next signal harvest. In WatchList, the Plays are orchestrated by us and there can be hundreds of Plays and Sub-Plays that we run on your named accounts mapped closely to your offerings. Here we start with the accounts that are important to you, track every possible signal there is to track, and give you that 10% edge in closing them quickly.

What is a credit, and when is it deducted?

Credits are what you spend to receive leads in the PlayList offering. Plays show you who is moving; credits pay only for what surfaces. A credit is spent only when a lead clears three bars: a live buying signal, a match to your ICP, and a named decision maker delivered to your feed. Quiet accounts cost nothing. You never pay for raw signals, anonymous traffic or companies outside your ICP. Credits are also used to enrich phone numbers at the moment. It is an optional feature that you can use whenever you want verified public phone numbers of your prospects and accounts.

How much does each lead cost?

Every lead on a metered PlayList plan costs 3 credits, regardless of plan, play or score. On Enterprise the meter is off entirely. That works out to up to 133 leads a month on Growth (400 credits) and up to 333 a month on Professional (1,000 credits). Phone numbers are the only add-on: half a credit each, on request, only for the leads you choose to dial.

What does a credit cost?

Your plan's credits are included in the plan price. If you run out in a good month, top up without changing plans: $1.10 a credit on Growth (up to one extra month's worth) and $1.00 a credit on Professional (up to two months' worth). Enterprise has no meter, so there is nothing to top up. If you find yourself topping up every month, a higher tier will usually serve you better.

Why do I get 3× credits in month one?

In the PlayList plans, your first month comes with 2× bonus experimental credits on top of your normal allowance: +800 on Growth, +2,000 on Professional. Use them to try more plays, test different geographies and ICP definitions, and find what works before settling into a routine.

Do credits carry over?

Yes. Credits stay valid for 3 months from the date they are issued, so a slow month never means wasted spend. On Professional and Enterprise, the whole billing period's credits are loaded on day one rather than dripped out monthly, so you can front-load a quarter around a launch, an event or an end-of-quarter push.

How do I buy more credits, and see what I have used?

To buy more, go to Settings › Billing Details › Add-on Credits. To see usage, go to Settings › Credits Usage.

Can I run custom plays or add my own sources?

On Growth and Professional you pick from the 60+ library and tune each play's variables yourself. Enterprise adds custom plays and custom sources built by Recepto's GTM engineers for your motion. On WatchList, the Max signals setting includes custom play implementations, and Max enrichment lets you add new custom signal sources.

What information comes with a lead?

Every lead arrives with the signal that surfaced it, an intent score, a short summary of why it was created, and tags for size, industry, funding stage and geography. It also comes with named decision makers: up to 3 on Growth, 5 on Professional and 10 on Enterprise, each with a verified email address and LinkedIn profile. Phone numbers are available on request for half a credit. On Professional and Enterprise, marking a lead as good enriches it further with direct connections from your team into the account, and Enterprise adds the warmest mutual connects, ranked. An activity log tracks every interaction with the lead.

How do I reach out to a lead?

Outreach is built into every plan and runs from inside Recepto. You connect your own inboxes and LinkedIn profiles (5 of each on Growth, unlimited on Professional and Enterprise) and reach out by email, LinkedIn profile view, connect request, direct message or post comment, and call tasks. Enterprise adds WhatsApp. Write manually for your highest-value accounts, or use templates: yours, or drafted by Recepto with AI intent variables so every message cites the signal. Sequences can branch on replies, wait, retry and run across channels in any order, with unlimited depth on every plan. From Professional up, sequences can fire automatically the moment a lead lands, with each play running its own outreach so the message always matches the signal. The system learns from your edits and from which messages earn replies.

Can Recepto use signals from my own communities or my own data?

Yes. Connect the Slack workspaces and WhatsApp groups outside your company that you already belong to (industry communities, founder networks, partner and customer channels) and any buying signal raised inside them lands in your feed as a lead. Slack is included on Growth and Professional; Enterprise adds WhatsApp. These are typically the highest-converting leads in the system. We never connect to your own company's internal Slack. On request, we can also blend your first-party signals (website visits, product usage, CRM events) with the 60+ third-party signals so you get one picture of who is in-market for you.

Does Recepto integrate with my CRM?

Yes, with select CRMs on every plan, so leads flow straight into your existing pipeline stages, sequences and reports. Check with us in your first week that yours is on the supported list. You can export leads, contacts and signal history at any time on any plan.

What do you track in the first quarter?

Four things, in order: 1) Quality of the plays and ICP definition 2) Quality of the leads the plays create 3) The decision makers the system identifies for each lead 4) Outreach strategy and copy across channels Each loop takes about 30 to 60 days to tune. Once all four are set, scaling is a matter of how many leads your team can absorb, which is when most customers move to Enterprise or add WatchList.

How is WatchList priced?

Per account you name. You choose one of four settings, signal depth × enrichment depth: Base or Max on signals, Base or Max on enrichment. The minimum is 30 accounts on a one-quarter commitment. Seats are unlimited, and export, multi-channel outreach, daily updates and hands-on play tuning are always included. Add-ons include extra customer offerings (if you sell several products or have multiple offerings), phone-number enrichment, first- and second-party signal fusion, custom sources, and weekly, fortnightly or monthly update cadences. Get in touch at sales@recepto.ai for commercials; we will put the list together with you.

What is the difference between Base and Max?

Signals tell you what, where, why and when. Enrichment tells you who and how. Signals · Base: any 20 plays from the 60+ library, orchestrated by Recepto. Signals · Max: all 60+ plays run daily, plus custom plays built for your motion and a model trained on your own wins. Enrichment · Base: account score and signal brief, up to 3 decision makers with email and LinkedIn, company brief, tags for size, location, funding stage and industry. Enrichment · Max: everything in Base plus a full org map across roles, functions and locations, warm connects and direct org-to-org connections, tech stack with confidence levels, person-level public signals, a customised company brief, and the ability to add custom signal sources.

Is WatchList included with PlayList?

Professional includes WatchList for 10 accounts and Enterprise for 30, both at Base signals and Base enrichment, at no extra cost. Growth does not include WatchList. You can add more accounts or move up to Max signals or Max enrichment at any time.

How do accounts move from PlayList into WatchList?

Three ways: promote accounts yourself when they keep firing signals, let Recepto suggest the ones worth watching, or set rules that promote automatically. Outreach runs from either product, so you are never forced to buy both.

How does WatchList scoring work?

Every account carries an intent score from 0 to 100, built bottom-up from the signals it has fired. The score indicates the strength of the signal and how urgently a human should act. Accounts are then plotted against the depth of your relationship. Hot and deep means strike now: high intent and you have a way in. Hot but shallow means high intent with no relationship, so use the org map and warm connects. Deep but cold means nurture until signals fire. Shallow and cold means monitor until the next refresh.

How quickly will I see leads?

Your first leads land within a day of activating your first play. Plays get sharper over the following weeks as they learn your ICP and your feedback, which is why the first quarter is treated as a tuning period.

What kind of pipeline impact should I expect?

80 to 90% of in-market buyers never raise their hand. Recepto watches 60+ public signals daily so you reach them before they do. As an illustration: a team with a 3,500-account market and a $250k ACV running default outbound builds roughly $10M of weighted pipeline by the end of year one, with about 100 accounts in motion. Adding 10% more accounts at the top of the funnel each quarter (the wider net from PlayList) and 10% better stage-to-stage conversion each quarter (sharper targeting and outreach from WatchList context) takes the same funnel to about $21.4M and 214 accounts in motion. Your numbers will depend on your TAM, ACV and conversion rates; tell us yours and we will model it.

Platform Features and Lead Management

What details will I get under CTA? Email? LinkedIn? Phone?

CTA (Call to Action) is a means to reach out to your prospect. Recepto will endeavour to give you at least one of Email, Linkedin, Twitter or Phone number when a lead is unlocked. In case the lead comes from a single identifiable source, you will also get the source link so that you have more context before you initiate your conversation

Is Recepto a platform only, or do you also run it as a service?

Recepto is a platform that you can use on your own. We help with all the training and handholding required to achieve that

Is execution autonomous or human-in-the-loop?

We support both autonomous execution and human-in-the-loop, and can also push data to your CRM.

I am an agency and have multiple clients. How do I use Recepto across those clients?

You can create multiple ICP profiles (one for for each of your clients) and have Plays mapped to that specific ICP

What does tracking my own professional network mean

Recepto enables you to connect your business Whatsapp groups and public Slack channels that you are part of to your account. Any relevant leads coming from those groups or workspaces also flow in to your Recepto account. If you are in any paid plan (Growth onwards), this data remains private to your account. The benefit from Recepto is that it automatically enriches the person behind the intent so that you can reach out to them easily. We leave it to your discretion to disclose to the community admins that you have connected your workspaces and groups to Recepto. In addition to this, you can also track your named prospects actively on Linkedin for any signals.

What are Organizational Rollups

Recepto has a feature that for admins, they would be able to see enriched leads coming out from the business networks of all members and other admins if its connected to the Recepto platform. This helps you not miss any leads and leverage your own organizational network to the fullest

Can we hard-enforce company size (e.g., 51–100) as a condition?

Yes. With Plays, we can enforce exact ranges like 51–100 people in the ICP and combine with other intent data to give highly relevant leads

Can we create a "Named Prospects" tab for our top 30 accounts?

Yes. We can monitor a direct list of named prospects and surface new signals automatically. Leads from named prospects generally have a higher Intent score

Why don't I see any CTA after I unlock a lead? How long do I have to wait?

In some cases, we get the intent but may not get the ICP or its CTA. In our experience, 50% of cases show CTAs immediately. For others, we hunt for 24 hours for public CTAs. If not found, you can ignore that lead and no credits will be deducted for such leads

How often does the system refresh with new leads?

The system refreshes in near real time - as soon as a new lead is processed, it's immediately visible.

Can I export my unlocked leads?

Yes, you can export your unlocked leads directly from the Recepto platform in CSV format

What is Unibox?

Unibox is the central place where responses to your reach-outs flow in. You can see the original lead source, the initial message and the exact response that you got.

What is Outbox?

Outbox as the name suggests is where you can see what messages are going out to your prospects.

Lead scoring and Algorithm

How is the intent score calculated?

Our intent score is calculated from a combination of these factors: 1) Match between your business signals and lead intent 2) Match between your desired ICP and the source ICP 3) Historical credibility of the source channel in surfacing the right intent for your industry. The higher the intent score, the more relevant and hot the lead should be.

How can I give feedback on my leads generated through my Plays?

For each lead, you can go and give feedback on the relevancy. We encourage such feedbacks because it goes straight to our algorithm to improve it for you. If the feedback is positive, it tries to go deeper into that source and if its negative, it tries to avoid that source in future.

Why do I have so few leads?

If the lead volume is low, we can increase it by: 1) Widening your ICP definitions 2) Relaxing some conditions or variables in the currently subscribed Plays 3) Subscribing to more Plays

Why are my leads not very relevant?

Typically, all leads are created from your subscribed Plays and by definition they hunt for leads based on ICP and Play variables defined by you. In cases where the leads dont appear very relevant, we may need to sharpen your ICP, sharpen the variables in your play or abandon the current play and define new ones

How do I know that a particular lead is from my ICP?

Before a lead is unlocked, there are tags (geography, industry, funding, employees, title, source) that gives you an idea whether a particular lead is within your ICP definition or not. Post unlocking, you get the details of the company as well as the decision makers and if they are outside your ICP definition, you can give feedback on that lead via our platform or reachout to us to rectify that.

Performance and Results

What meeting booking rate should we expect?

This number varies dramatically across channels and plays. You can hope to see 5% to 10% positive response rates on an average for your reachouts with Recepto. From those responses, you can expect 50% meeting rates. These numbers are for automated responses. Manual responses would definitely be higher if done well.

What response rates should we expect per channel?

Typical early benchmarks: LinkedIn ≈ 20% reply, WhatsApp ≈ 10%, email varies with domain warmup and copy but should be around 2 to 3%

Are leads exclusive, or shared with other clients?

Leads may be shared across max 3 clients of same industry. Under our fair usage policy, We limit only three unlocks per lead to the first three requesters.

Configuration and Customization

Can I track multiple ICPs?

Yes, you will be able to track multiple ICPs within the same account and assign Plays to any of the ICPs defined in your account

How can I improve my signals and triggers?

Signals and Triggers form the basis of what Plays are recommended to you and how they perform. The sharper you define them while filling our initial onboarding form or via the configurations screen, the better Plays are recommended to you. The Plays performance is also improved because the Play variables pick up values from your configuration page as well.

How can I improve my ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) tracking

ICP consists of many dimensions. The main dimensions are Geography, Industry, Team size, Revenues, Funding Stage, Persona of buyer (Level and Department). You can tweak any of these variables based on your preference.

How soon does the algorithm update post my changes in "Configuration" section?

The algorithm gets updated in near real time.

Getting started and Onboarding

Do we need any integrations on our side to get started?

No. You can start without integrations and export results; CRM integrations are optional.

How soon and how easy is it to start?

Complete a short form and we spin up your account within a day.

What access and assets are required on the client side to start outreach?

Manual outreach can be started without any access or assets. For automated outreach, we seek warmed email accounts, a WhatsApp number linked to Facebook Business, and LinkedIn accounts.

Do we need to subscribe to third-party tools, or do you manage them?

We manage the outreach stack for you using tools like SmartLead, HeyReach, and Twilio.

Is the onboarding same for each Pricing Plan

The initial onboarding is the same for each plan. However, since we track far more Plays in Growth, Professional and Enterprise plans, we go significantly deeper in the higher plans both in terms of mapping what Plays would be best for you and also in terms of providing you proactive support on making things work so that you get the best leads.

Outreach best practices

How should we explain to prospects how we found their contact?

Be transparent: we used publicly available or user-permitted sources and reached out due to a relevant intent signal.

For US-focused outreach, which channels should we prioritize?

Prioritize LinkedIn, rich SMS, and email for the US market.

Can we automate LinkedIn outreach safely? What daily limits?

Yes, using tools like HeyReach; cap around 10 messages per account per day to stay safe.

How many email accounts do we need to meaningfully scale outreach?

Plan for 2-3 warmed email accounts across 2-3 domains each with about 30 sends per account per day including follow-ups.

What multi-channel cadence performs best for cold-to-warm sequences?

A good starter: Email Day0, WhatsApp Day3, LinkedIn Day5, then repeat with tailored follow-ups.

How did you find my number and send WhatsApp messages?

We enriched public data to find contact info and used Twilio to send compliant messages.

Can Recepto send WhatsApp messages to US numbers?

WhatsApp is limited in the US; we use rich SMS plus LinkedIn and email as primary channels for US prospects

Compliance and Security

Do you have GDPR/ITR or other compliance certifications?

As a default, we dont require any data from you except your ICP details. Moreover, we only give you 3rd party signals and leads that would have typically not come in your orbit. Since we dont get any information from you, we typically get waivers from Infosec departments in companies. Having said that, even though we operate on public and permissioned data; our formal certifications are planned very soon.
